URUNDAI KOLAMBU

Hope your day is going good.Today's recipe is Urundai kolambu.This is one of our south indian traditional recipe.Main ingredient is gram dal.As gram dal rich in proteins and vitamins it is healthy recipe too.This is Similar to kola urundai recipe.Hope you all like this recipe and try this in your home and enjoy .If you tried let me know.
INGREDIENTS:
- Onion - 2
- Salt - As required
- Tamarind extract - 24gm
- Poached coconut - 1 cup
- Red chilli - 3
- Salt - As requried for taste

For making balls :
- Gramdal - 100 gm
- Red chilli - 3

- Oil - For deep frying

- Tamarind extract - 24gm
- Poached coconut - 1 cup

- Coriander leaves - few leaves

For making balls :
- Gramdal - 100 gm

Pre - Preparation:
1. First soak the gram dal in water for atleast one hour. Then drain the gram dal from water.
2. Transfer the soaked gram dal to a mixie jar, and add red chilli grind it to a coarse paste.

3. In a bowl add coarsely grinded gram dal and add chopped onions, coriander leaves and salt. Then mix well and Knead it to a firm dough.

4. From the dough make small sized ball. Repeat the same for all the remaining dough.

5. Meanwhile heat the pan with oil for deep frying. Gently add the
balls and fry until turns golden brown.

6. In a mixie jar add poached coconut and cumin seeds. Grind them to a fine paste by adding less amount of water. Keep the coconut paste closed and kept aside.

METHOD:
- In a heat pan add oil and add vadagam, saute it for 30 sec.
- Then add tamarind extract and cook for 3 minutes.
- Once cooked add the coconut paste, and bring it to boil . Then add salt and mix well.
- When it comes to semi consistency add the deep fried balls to the kolambu. Be careful while adding deep fried balls, coz it will break into pieces.
- Now Urundai kolambu is ready to serve with white rice .

Heat the kadai with 2 tbspn oil and add vadagam saute it for 30sec.

Then add tamarind extract and brings to boil.

Now add coconut paste and mix well. Flame should be medium.

After that add salt and mix well. Once cooked add the deep fried balls gently.

At last garnish with coriander leaves and turn off the flame. Then serves with white rice and enjoy.
