                                    HOW TO MAKE BOTTLE GOURD RICE BALLS GRAVY

                                                 (SURAIKAI  ARISI URUNDAI KOOTU)


        Kootu is a South Indian dish made of vegetables and Rice balls.  This kootu is very simple, easy to prepare and is also very healthy and light. It needs no oil except for seasoning.  It can be had with rice, Today we will learn how to make suraikai arisi urundai kootu following this easy recipe.

It helps in maintaining a healthy heart and brings down bad cholesterol levels. It is also beneficial for diabetic patients as it stabilizes the blood sugar level and maintains blood pressure.     

       


INGREDIENTS:

Rice                 -  250g   
Bottle gouzrd     -  500g
Coconut           -  2 cups
Red chilli         -   2
Curry leaves     -  As required
Urud dall          -  1 tspn
Mustard seeds  -  1 tspn
Oil                    -  For seasoning
Salt                   -  To taste


                                       




METHOD:

Soak the rice for two hours. And graind them coarsely 



   
            



Make small sized balls from the dough.






Chop the bottle gourd in to cubes.






PREPARATION:

In a pan add 400 ml of water and boil it for 5 to 10 mts. Add bottle gourd cubes to that hot water and boil it for 10 mts .



Now add rice balls and boil it for another 10 mts








Ensure whether it has been cooked or not by take it outside and press it and check.  Now add coconut and salt



                                                        




At last seasoning it with Mustard seeds, urudhal, Red chilli, Curry leaves
                                                    .





                                                       





 You can add with white rice
