HOW TO MAKE PUFFED RICE BALLS | PORI URNDAI


Yesterday we celebrated karthigai deepam.on that day people will lights lamps in their homes. people will prepare puffed rice balls  and pray to god.it is children's favourite snack.also a healthy food.hope you will like this and try this in your home .
  









INGREDIENTS:


  1. Puffed rice - 500gms
  2. Jaggery - 1 kg
  3. Coconut - 2 ( Cut into pieces)
  4. Sesame seeds - 50 gms
  5. Ground nut - 150 gms
  6. Roasted Bengal gram - 150 gms
  7. Cardamom  - 4 pieces






METHOD OF PREPARATION:


  • Heat a pan and add coconut pieces, Fry it for few mts.  Then transfer to a plate.
  • Likewise fry the roasted bengal gram, ground nut, sesame seeds separately.  And transfer to plate.
  • In another pan add 200ml of water and jaggery bring them to  boil, continuing to do so until the jaggery melts completly.
  • After 5 to 10 mts it come to one string consistency.  To check the consistency add a drop of jaggery in the plate filled with water.  If it is not dissolved then it is a perfect consistency.  Then turn off the stove.
  • Now pour the jaggery to the puffed rice mixture and uniformly mix well.
  • Make medium sized balls from the mixture.

Heat a pan and fry the puffed rice and transfer to a bowl.






Now fry the other ingredients and mix with puffed rice.








Next step we have to prepare jaggery like as shown below 




To get perfect consistency add a drop of jaggery in to the water if it is not dissolved then it is a perfect consistency.




Pour jaggery to the puffed rice mixture and mix well.






Make medium sized balls.



Ready to serve
