SAKKARAI PONGAL
Pongal is celebreated in South India on every year from January 14th to January 17th (By the Tamil People). For sucessful harvest people offers sakkarai pongal to Sun God to convey their thanks. On pongal day people join together with their friends and family and prepare pongal shares with everyone. Also people will play games. On second day of 4 day festival "JALLIKATTU" will be conducted in grand manner. Jallikattu was one of the traditional games for tamil people. Last day of 4 day festival people will go to temple and other places to spend their time happily.
I have shared the pongal recipe which willl be prepared on pongal day. At first I will wash the Bronze pot and tie Yellow masonry, and ginger masonry. Then I will put vibhoothi, Santhanam, and Kumkum over the pot. While preparing pongal milk begins to boil over we will say "PONGALO PONGAL" . We belive that by saying " PONGALO PONGAL" All Good thing will begins to start.
INGREDIENTS:

- Rice - 1 cup
- Powdered Jaggery - 1 1/2cup
- Milk - 200ml
- Cashewnut - 10
- Dry grapes - 8
- Ghee - 3 tbspn
- Cardamom - 1 spn
- Water - 3cups
METHOD:
- In a hot bronze pot add milk and bring to boil in very low flame. When milk comes to boil over add 3 cups of rice stock and stir well.
- Once boiled add rice and cook well. Stir frequently.
- Then add jaggery and mix well. Cook for about 10 minutes. Until jaggery dissolve completely.
- Now add the roasted dry fruits to the sakkarai pongal. Then transfer to a bowl and enjoy.
STEP BY STEP IMAGES FOR SAKKARAI PONGAL:
1) In a heat bronze pot add millk and brings to boil.
2) Once boiled add 3 cups of rice stock and stir uniformly. And add a yellow masonry leaf on it.
3) Then add rice and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes.
4) Then add jaggery and mix well. Cook for 10 minutes
5) At last add dry fruits and mix well.
6) And ready to serve hot.
HOW TO MAKE VENPONGAL (WHITE PONGAL)
INGREDIENTS:
Rice - 1cup
Milk - 200ml
Salt - As required
Water - 3 cups
METHOD:
- Heat the eversilver pot in low flame once hot add milk and brings to boil. Then add rice of rice stock and stir well.
- Then add rice and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- When it was cooked and comes to thick consistency add salt and mix well and turn off the flame.
- Transfer the ven pongal to a plate and garnish with bananas and small jaggery pice and small coconut pice and curd in the middle and ready to a serve.

Then add rice and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes.
When rice was cooked add salt and mix well.
Then transfer to a plate and garnish with bananas and jaggery pice and coconut pice, curd in the middle.
Now Ven Pongal is Ready to Serve.
