THIRUVATHIRAI KALI
Thiruvathirai kali a sweet recipe. It is prepared on a special day for lord a Nataraja. People belive that lord nataraja was incarnate on thiruvathirai star. So on every year of tamil month (Margazhi) . People celebrates that day by offering this sweet recipe to Lord Nataraja. It is also referred as Aarudhra Dharisanam.
INTRODUCTION

Rice - 1cup
Moon dal - 1/4 cupJaggery - 1 cupPoached Coconut - 1cupCardamom - 1Cashewnut - 105
METHODS:
- In a wide pan put the rice in it and fry till turns golden. It takes 2-3minutes. Then transfer to plate. Let it cool.
- In the same pan add the moong dal and fry for 2 minutes. And transfer it to a plate.
- Grind the rice and moong dal to a little coarse powder.
- In another thick pan add 3 cup water and bring it to boil. Then add powdered jaggery and stir well. Let it dissolve.
- Take a pressure cooker, using filter pour the dissolved jaggery into it to remove the dust. Bring it to boil.
- When it comes to boil add the poached coconut and cardamom. After 3 minutes add the powdered rice and moong dal. Close the lid and cook for 5 to 6 whistles.
- Finally add roasted cashewnut. Mix uniformly.

Fry the rice and moong dal in kadai until turns golden colour.
Cool the roasted rice and moong dal. Then grind to a coarse powder.
In another pan dissolve the powdered jaggery by adding 3 cups of water.
Pour the filtered jaggery in to the pressure cooker and brings to boil. Once bolied add cardamom and coconut.
Then add powdered rice and mix well. Close the lid and cook for 6 whistles.
Turn off the flame and add the roasted cashewnut and mix well.
Thiruvathirai kali is ready to serve.
