  GULAB JAMUN

Hi friends! Today a leisure day for me.On weekend I will prepare some food specially for my family members.But today unusually my husband prepared  dessert  for us.He prepared this dessert for the first time surprisingly it came  well.We loved this gulab jamun .So i thought to share this with you all.

GULAB JAMUN - A DESSERT especially prepared on special days.Tradittionally Prepared with kova and sugar.Instrant gulab jamun mix also available. My husband prepared gulab jamun using instant mix.














Ingredients:

  • Oil -For deep frying
  • Instant Gulab Jamun Mix - 175 gm
  •  Sugar - 500 gm
  • Food Colour 
  • Water - As required
  • Ghee - 1 tbspn 

TO PREPARE SUGAR SYRUP:

1) In a pan add 500 gm of sugar to that add 2 cup of water .Let it dissolve completely in  low flame.













2) Once dissolve turn off the flame and add Food colour and mix. keep covered and set aside.





TO PREPARE JAMUNS:

  1. In a wide pan add in instant gulab jamun mix.Then uniformly mix the dough without any lumps.
  2. Add water and knead them to a soft dough.
  3. Apply 1 tbspn of ghee above the dough and keep covered for atleast 15 minutes.
  4. Once again knead the dough after 15 minutes and make medium sized balls from the dough.
  5. Meanwhile heat oil in a kadai in a low flame.When it is hot gently add the prepared balls in the oil. Fry till turns golden brown.Let it cool for sometime.
  6. When sugar syrup cools  add the balls. Soak the jamuns in syrup for atleast 30 minutes.
  7. When the jamuns doubles the size it is ready to serve.


STEP BY STEP IMAGES:

1) Uniformly mix the instant gulab jamun mix by adding less amount of water. And knead them to a soft dough. At last apply Ghee above the dough and keep covered for 15 minutes.












2) After  that make medium sized balls from the dough.


 









3) Heat oil in a wide pan , When it gets hot add the prepared balls gently in to the oil and fry.Repeat the same for remaining batches.








4) After the dough gets cooled add the balls to the sugar syrup.Soak the jamuns for 30 minutes.



 


 5)When the jamuns doubles its size it is reaady to serve.
